Catalog Automation can prepare a simple Proof of Concept to show you how your current catalogue can be converted to an efficient, cost-effective, data-driven catalogue.
What we will do
Catalog Automation will create a 1-2 page PDF replicating pages from your existing catalogue, including:
- Adaption of existing page template to suit, using one of our existing page libraries.
- Creation of sample data within our Producty catalogue & product management solution.
- Saving/sorting of category/product images to facilitate automated production.
Proof of Concept example
The following example shows how a single page from an industrial catalogue was provided as a Proof of Concept to decision makers at an air conditioning supply company.
Existing layout
The existing catalogue layout included varied product headings and inconsistent product layouts. Detailed product information and image references were managed manually within InDesign.
Proof of Concept layout
The Proof of Concept includes the same product information, with minor adjustments to the layout to present product information in a clear, consistent format.
Catalogue data
Product data & category structure suitable for creating automated catalogues was created using Catalog Automation’s hosted product management service.

Notes
- While we can typically match existing layouts quite closely, there are times when we need to alter the page design in order to efficiently automate your product catalogue.
- The Proof of Concept is deliberately designed as a mono (i.e. black & white) layout to demonstrate information hierarchy and management. A full design consultation, taking into account your broader design objectives will follow.
- Workflow components created during the Proof of Concept will not be provided to the customer, with the exception of the PDF and the sample Excel file.
